When I started going to school in the mid-80s, my teachers
used pieces of chalk a lot. For us students, they symbolized authority and
knowledge. Authority is thrust upon the teachers because of their educational
attainment and age. They were the only ones who handled pieces of chalk to
write on the blackboard. It was pure joy for us whenever we were called to participate
in class by writing on the board. Our teachers also symbolized knowledge for it
appeared that they had answers to all of our questions, answers that were continuously
written with a piece of chalk.

Constant Change
Delta pi, constant change. In a world that is changing at an
unprecedented phase, some things remain the same. These notions have been
present even before humanity existed on this planet. Going against them proves
catastrophic on the part of human civilization. What is needed is to know these
constants and be in harmony with them. Humanity does not own the planet; the
planet owns humanity. Humanity is the dominant species, but it is not the only
species. Perhaps, sometime in the future, humanity will learn how to truly
respect and care for the only planet on which he exists.

Pi is a constant number. It is unchangeable. Regardless of
the size of a circle, its measurement is still the same. A circle is a complete
figure in itself with all points equally radiating from a common center. Whatever
is the center of our humanity, we radiate certain qualities that may be
measured. There are human qualities that are changeable. But there are some
that also have to be constant. Pi, circle, constancy. What is constant in life
may be measured, albeit, in varied instances. A part of the circle of
existence. I am pi; I am constant. Pi, Pulido.

Delta denotes change. Changes happen every second. What I was
when I woke up this morning is not the same as I am now. Every second makes me
a different person. Every cell in the body, billions of cells, inevitably transforms
one way or another. Every thought, faster than light, finds its way across the
universe. Delta, change. It is difficult to calculate how much change any
person may experience or may undergo. The human capacity for adaption is
immeasurable. Perhaps this has equipped him to be the master of this planet. I am
delta; I am change. Delta, Dennis.
